thin, crisp, dry product made from a thin batter. It may be baked in a hinged iron, giving it distinctive surface patterns, or baked flat and shaped while still warm. May be flavoured with vanilla, orange, ginger or ground almonds. Used in desserts, as decoration, as biscuits, or may be filled or coated.
