also called gluten intolerance, refers to intolerance to all grains containing gluten, i.e. wheat, rye, barley and possibly oats. Symptoms of gluten intolerance include cramps, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, growth failure in children, and malnutrition. Some bakeries now specialise in gluten-free baked products to cater for customers with coeliac disease.
