Colin works for ARYZTA New Zealand Limited as General Manager NZ. This role involves the general management of the largest bun bakery in New Zealand supplying the Quick Service Restaurant industry.
Colin's interest in the baking industry began as he identified it as an industry that was growing and developing from a technology aspect. Originally an engineer Colin started in the industry as a maintenance fitter before taking a change into production/operations by serving a baking apprenticeship. He has now been involved in the baking industry for 29 years.
In terms of the Baking Industry Research Trust (BIRT), Colin thinks it provides a vital link between major baking industry players. The Trust also promotes in depth research and development of issues affecting the manufacturers of bread products in New Zealand.
