Mitchell Cordery

A newly qualified craft baker at The Clareville Bakery in the Wairarapa, Mitchell says while he always enjoyed food, he never thought he would end up as a baker. But an after-school cleaning job in a local bakery led to him helping out in the bakery, and being  offered an apprenticeship at The Clareville Bakery,  where he is now second in charge of producing a wide range of products. “I’ve developed a real passion for bread baking, taking flour and water and being able to make so many different products.” Having come third in the Apprentice of the Year Competition in 2018, he has some competitive experience and is keen to give the Young Bread Baker of the Year Competition his best shot and gain valuable experience in the process.
