Young Bread Baker of the Year

The Young Bread Baker of the Year competition is run annually by the New Zealand Association of Bakers and is open to bakers in New Zealand that have completed their qualification within the past 2 years. Participants are tested on their practical baking skills as well as completing a written exam, and a researched presentation. The judges’ panel is made up of people from within the baking industry.

Along with gaining the title of Young Bread Baker of the Year, the winner will be presented with a research grant up to the value of $10,000 for research such as overseas travel to look at new technology, ingredients, process or trends in products. The winner may also be asked to represent New Zealand at the LA Judge Award competition.

The 2019 competition will be held in Auckland on the 20th and 21st of November. We look forward to introducing the entrants as the 2019 Competition begins.
