Café Cakes
“Café Cakes” is primarily aimed at the baking industry, but is also proving popular with café and home bakers. Experienced bakers looking for new ideas, or retailers setting up a new bakery or café business, will find both the reference and recipe sections of the book useful. So will those involved in the food or hospitality industry, including café and hotel workers, chefs, and bakery retail staff who deal directly with the public.
The book includes 54 recipes for pastry, meringue, chocolate, spice, nut and seed, and vegetable based cakes, tarts, slices and flans. It offers detailed but easy-to-read technical information on the cake making process, finishing and presentation, ingredients and equipment. It also describes types of café cakes and their distinguishing features. It includes a glossary and a detailed index of terms, as well as full colour photographs.

“Café Cakes makes great reading. The explanations, and the description of the effects that different ingredients have ion the finished product, are clear and well documents.
